Basic Research

Basic Research includes locating the information included in any of the society’s publications that are listed on the publications page.  Many of these publications have online indexes.  If you find a person of interest in any of these indexed publications, send that name of the person and the publication in which it is found.  If you wish to have our basic researcher search other publications that are not indexed, specify which publications you wish to have researched. Please contact one of the researchers with your request to confirm the cost.  Searching will begin upon receipt of your quoted payment and SASE.

Advanced Research

Research which goes beyond doing lookups from the society’s publication is available at the rate of $20 per hour.  Send your requests, with a $20 deposit and SASE to:

The Society has a mutually beneficial relationship with the Sonoma County Public Library in Santa Rosa.   We donate books and CD-ROMS to the genealogical collection using funds from our general budget and the raffles conducted at the general meetings.  This collection is held in the Annex to the Main Library along with all the records from the Sonoma County Room. Our Society recently donated a quality computer  to the be used by researchers in the Annex.  In order to help library users, the Society supplies a volunteer assistant to work in the Library Annex each Wednesday.  Members can help provide this needed service, while at the same time increase their familiarity with the collection.
